Repair structural deficiencies of the piles and pile bents under a concrete building as well as waterproof the undersided of the floor.
The building is built on piles over the Anclote River and remained open during the repairs. Access was difficult, with extremely low overhead clearance, difficult material handling as well as working with the tides.
Access was cut in the floor of the adjoining boardwalk. A ladder was installed as our only means of access for bringing debris out and materials in.
Work consisted of removal of years of debris that had floated in with the tides. Removal of all loose concrete, cut around all spalled areas and chip to behind the rebar, treat all exposed rebar with a corrosion inhibitor and bonding agent, apply a polymer concrete, install FRP composite material to reinforce and waterproof the repaired structure.
